How do I calculate my future due date?
A full-term pregnancy can last anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks. However, 40 weeks or 280 days is considered to be the average gestational period. Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan is an ultrasound screening test done around 12 weeks of pregnancy. It is commonly called as the First trimester screening. NT scan is usually accompanied by blood test. These procedures are done to screen your baby for Down’s syndrome and other chromosomal/genetic abnormalities.
Nuchal translucency means the clear space in the tissue behind the baby’s neck. While this is a common occurrence, babies with chromosomal or genetic abnormalities tend to have more than usual amount of fluid accumulated at the back of their neck during the first trimester. The base of the baby’s neck is transparent till 14 weeks. Hence, this scan is taken between 11-14 weeks of pregnancy.
If the baby is screened positive in the NT scan and the accompanied blood test, other procedures like amniocentesis are further done to confirm the condition. Morphology Scan date

As your body gets ready for labour, the cervix (opening of the uterus) softens and decreases in length.
